A Concert for Mary Stevens Hospice

'6th June: A Musical Landing'

On the 76th anniversary of D Day, the highly acclaimed Huddersfield Wind Band will be landing at St James’s Church in Wollaston, Stourbridge for an evening of Symphonic Sound together with their guests for the evening, the National Flute Orchestra. This follows on from a successful 2018 concert when the Flute Orchestra travelled north for an evening of music with the Huddersfield Wind Band under the baton of their Musical Director John Turnbull.

The concert will feature a varied and exciting programme including the world premiere of the 'Huddersfield Overture', which the wind band commissioned from Tony Bridgewater, Musical Director of The National Flute Orchestra.

The evening promises to be an 'explosive' event including famous military music and culminating in a massed performance by both ensembles.

Proceeds for the concert will be going to the Mary Stevens Hospice.
